Footprint Ghosts
Paint each child's foot with white paint and print it
on a black sheet of construction paper. When it
dries add eyes to the heel part of the foot.
That will be the ghost's head.
Tissue Ghost
Supplies:
Facial Tissues
Markers
String, yarn, rubber bands, twist ties ect.
Take one piece of tissue and roll it into a ball. Put
it in the center of another piece of tissue, gather,
and tie. This will form the ghost's head. Use a
marker to draw eyes and mouth!
Halloween Votives:
Collect one baby food jar, one votive, back &
orange tissue paper, glue and paint brush for each
child.
Soak labels off of jars. Let the jars dry. Let each
child cut tissue paper pieces and glue onto the jar
with paint brush...Much like a decoupage. They can
make mosaics or even a jack-o-lantern. With
permanent marker add child's name and date to the
bottom of the jar. Add a votive
* Fill Halloween garbage bags with leaves, and
place in yard.
* Use spider web cotton (or polyester fill, about
$1.00 for a large bag) and spread it across porch in
the corners and in the doorway. *Don't put this out
too early, because too much wind and definitely rain
will make it look messy.
* Fill old flannel shirt, and pair of large jeans with
cotton, leaves or rags. Use a pumpkin for the head,
and add filled gloves for hands. Draw eyes and a
mouth with black marker, and place your spooky
Halloween man in a chair on your porch. (or woman!
add a wig on the pumpkin's head to change gender.)
You could also change this man into a scarecrow,
but securing all the clothing together, and placing it
all on a large stick, or attaching it to your tree.
* Expecting trick or treaters? Fill a large black
cauldron
with Halloween candy, and set it on your
porch to hand out to kids. For a spooky treat,
dress up as a ghoul, and see who dares to step
onto the porch!
* Christmas lights aren't just for Christmas! Orange
and purple lights
will make your house look very
festive. You may want to try orange and yellow, or
orange and green though because purple often
doesn't show up well.
* Make a pumpkin totem pole. The more pumpkins
the better! Get three pumpkins of various sizes, and
carve funny, or scary faces. The top pumpkin (the
smallest) should still have it's stem attached, but
the rest should have a hold straight through. Then
put the largest on the bottom, and push a pole or
strong stick into the ground, and through the
pumpkins base. Add the rest of the pumpkins on
top.
For Party Decorations
For Kids
* For extremely easy decorating, don't
underestimate the importance of black and orange
streamers.
They are cheap, but when hung
effectively, they are also a great way to decorate.
* To add a little sparkle to your cotton spider webs,
try sprinkling glitter in them. Cool effect.
* In a large black cauldron, (clean!!) add 7up and
lime sherbert for a fun beverage. You could also add
a clean plastic snake or plastic roaches. Make sure
they are not too small, because they could be a
choking hazard. Call it Sewer Punch.
* For another fun punch effect, fill a clean
disposable glove (wash inside and out!), and fill it
with water. Allow the glove to freeze overnight, and
then cut off the glove. You've got a frozen hand.
Add it to your punch bowl.
* To make tin can candle holders, get a clean tin
can, and paint it orange or black. Then punch holes
in it with a hammer and a large nail. You could
either just make a random pattern, or you could
punch out a jack o lanterns face. Then simply add a
tea light.
Hanging Bats
Draw in white crayon, bats of various sizes on
black construction paper, and then cut them out.
Punch a hole in the top, or one of the wings, and
hang from ceiling.
Paper Bag Witch
Draw a witches hat, and hair from construction
paper, and glue to paper sack. Draw eyes, mouth
and nose.
